1947 Union Oil 76

The Union Oil Company issued 108 cards in 1947. Two cards are numbered A-20.

This is the year that Union Oil made the cards difficult to identify.  This series can be identified by observing the logo

as shown to the right and the one cent stampbox.

They used the copyright year as well as a consecutive numbering system. If the collector uses and understands the code as described below, there should not be any difficulty in segregating the card into it's proper order.

The code is: "47" indicates 1947,

"J" indicates printed in June or July,

"M" indicates Printed in May,

"A" indicates printed in April or August.

2 to 3 numbers, or more on a card indicates reprints.

The number is located below the word "Gasoline" on the emblem. The emblem is located on the bottom of the card is shown.

Ex: A-4, M-4, A-3-M-1, Stampbox is also shown.
